Alternative Route to Certification – Stud

Welcome to the Student Assessment and Reporting System (SARS) for the Alternate Route to Certification program.

Instructions for ARC Students

To get started with this system an account has been created using your email address on file with the ARC office. Your password is set as the four digits of your Social Security Number, which is also on file, with the ARC office. After logging in you will be directed to a screen displaying a list of completed evaluations. You can also access “Edit Account Information” to change your Account Name and Password for logins.

Step 1; By clicking on “View Evaluation ” you can review the completed evaluation form.

Step 2; To add your comments click on the “Add Comments” link. Remember to save all data by clicking on the “Save Data” button at the end of the form.

Step 3; Feel free to view add comments and print evaluations whenever needed.

Step 4; Once you have completed adding comments click on the Electronic Filing button. This action will generate your signature on the document.
After the program is completed it is advisable to print any documents since access to the system will no longer be available.

Please keep in mind that it’s important to save your work preferably every 15 17 minutes. Additionally remaining on a screen and typing for more, than 20 minutes without saving won’t count as being active. To ensure you don’t lose any information make sure to save your data

Instructions for Methods Instructors in the ARC;

The ARC office has created an account for your use in SARS. Upon logging in you will be directed to a page displaying the list of ARC students within your Methods Area.

Midterm Assessments

  • Step 1; Click on “Edit Midterm Evaluation” to modify the evaluation form. Methods instructors are responsible for completing sections 1 4. Sections 5 7 (attendance, conduct, Core assignments and program assignments and requirements) will be pre filled by the ARC Office.
  • Step 2; Review the summary and recommendation section for accuracy. Instructors have the responsibility of providing recommendations.
  • Step 3; Submit the midterm evaluation before January 13 2018 when it becomes accessible to students.
  • Step 4; Inform the ARC office once you have finished your evaluations and thoroughly review all student comments upon completion.

Completed midterm evaluations, in SARS can be printed.

Final Assessments

  • Step 1; Complete the evaluations anytime AFTER May 19 2018. Click on “Edit Final Evaluation” to modify the evaluation form. Methods instructors are required to complete sections 1 – 5.
    Sections 6 – 10 such as attendance, conduct, Core assignments and Student Practicum will be completed in advance by the ARC Office.
  • Step 2; check the summary and recommendation section to ensure accuracy. The final recommendation is the responsibility of the instructors.
  • Step 3; Submit the evaluation before May 21 2018. Once submitted they will be made available to students.
  • Step 4; Inform the ARC office once you have finished your evaluations and review all student comments when they are completed.

Final evaluations completed in SARS can be printed if needed. If you have any questions about this system please contact the ARC Office.

Please remember to save your work in SARS every 15 – 17 minutes. Staying on a screen and typing for more, than 20 minutes without saving your work may not be recognized as active engagement. Make sure to save your data to avoid losing any entered information.

Alternative Route to Certification – Eval

Welcome to the “Student Assessment and Reporting System” (SARS) for the Alternate Route to Certification.

Instructions for ARC Evaluators

To get started with this system you need to create an account. During the setup process you’ll be asked to provide your email address, which will be verified against our records in the ARC Program. Once your account is created and you log in you’ll see a screen displaying the list of ARC students assigned to work with you.

Step 1; Click on “Add Another Evaluation” to enter visit details. You can choose either the Student Practicum Observation Form or the Final Student Practicum Evaluation Form.

Step 2; Click on “Edit Evaluations” for a student in order to input all information. Remember to save all data by clicking on the “Save Data” button at the end of the form.

Step 3; You have freedom to edit evaluations whenever needed.

Step 4; Once each evaluation is finished, click on the Electronic Filing button. This action will trigger an email notification sent directly to the student and grant them access to their document, within the SARS System. They can then add their self reflection comments.
He or she will also have the option to print out a version of each document complete with electronic signatures.

Step 5; Once you have submitted three Student Practicum Observation Forms for each student you can then proceed to fill out a Final Student Practicum Evaluation Form by selecting that choice.

Ongoing; When logged in you can access and review all the assessments completed by the cooperating teachers for any selected student.

What needs to be submitted to the ARC Office;

  • Print one Final Student Practicum Evaluation Form for each students file.
  • Your remaining. Visitation logs.
  • Any paperwork provided by the cooperating teacher(s).

Please keep in mind that it is important to save your work every 15 17 minutes. Additionally if you stay on one screen and type for than 20 minutes, without saving your work it won’t register as active. Remember to save your data to avoid losing any information.

Alternative Route to Certification – Coop

Welcome to the “Student Assessment and Reporting System” (SARS) a route to certification program.

Instructions for Cooperating Teachers in the Alternate Route to Certification (ARC)

Step 1; Please click here to obtain a copy of the State Vendor forms. It is important that you complete these forms and submit them to the ARC Office before commencing any services. This will ensure processing of your payment. You can. Fax or email the completed forms to the ARC office.

Step 2; To create an account you will need to provide your students name and the assigned ARC evaluator.

Step 3; Once logged in select “Add Another Evaluation” for each conducted observation. You can choose from evaluation forms such as Student Practicum Observation Form, Final Student Practicum Evaluation Form, Mid Point Assessment of Professional Expectations Final Assessment of Professional Expectations and Evaluation of the ARC Student Practicum Experience Form.

Step 4; To input all information, for each conducted observation click on “Edit Evaluation.” Remember to save all data by clicking on the “Save Data” button at the end of each form.
Step 5; Feel free to make any changes to the evaluations whenever you need to.

Step 6; Once you have completed each evaluation click on the “Electronic Filing” button. This will send an email to the student. Grant them access to the final document so that they can add their own self reflection comments directly into the SARS System. They will also have the option to print a version of each document with electronic signatures.
